Luka Doncic will technically have a decision to make over the summer, although his future seems pretty clear at the moment. Even so, a few people think the Slovenian would be better off jumping ship.
The Lakers will have their work cut out over the summer as they attempt to return to the top of the Western Conference. The disappointment is still real following this elimination against the Wolves, although it’s not totally surprising. The arrival of Luka Doncic changed many things, and largely weakened the interior sector with the loss of Anthony Davis.
Mark Williams was supposed to provide a boost, but the Angelinos ultimately cancelled the deal. Some people are wondering whether the end of the season in Los Angeles might have been different with the pivot around. A major regret, although the franchise now wants to focus on the future.
What choice for Luka Doncic?
It will start with the recruitment of a true post 5, while Luka Doncic will have a decision to make with the possibility of signing a contract extension. He has shared his happiness at playing in Los Angeles, and the outcome of this issue seems pretty clear at the moment. But some Internet users think that a departure, especially with the elimination, is the best thing to do.
It’s not yet known whether the Slovenian has made his decision behind the scenes, but we should soon find out. However, and for one account on Twitter, a move to the Nuggets would be a better alternative.
@PerSources : “If I’m Luka Doncic, I’m forgetting the Lakers and joining the Denver Nuggets.”
The franchise isn’t chosen by chance, since we know how close Doncic is to Nikola Jokic. But why join him in Colorado? That’s another story.
@melchen : “The Nuggets defense would be really bad.”
@Imascapegoat69 : “He wouldn’t fit in, because he can’t defend.”
It’s unclear whether Doncic has any interest in joining another franchise in the future, but it remains technically possible on paper. Nevertheless, the player has expressed his happiness since his arrival, so a departure would be a huge surprise. He’s likely to stay in Los Angeles for the time being and play for the title, but anything can happen very quickly in the NBA.
