With the Warriors through to the second round of the playoffs after their win over the Rockets, we know they’ll be facing the Wolves from now on. A reunion between Rudy Gobert and Draymond Green, and the fans are already hot for the event.
Thanks to a fourth and final win over the Rockets, it’s the Warriors who will see out the second round of the playoffs. It wasn’t easy, with Steph Curry invisible for a very long time in this game, but success is at hand thanks to a super Buddy Hield. The most important thing remains qualification for Golden State, who were in the play-offs just a few weeks ago.
It’s a relief for Steve Kerr’s men, who can now look forward to continuing their adventure with another title in their sights. Their next opponent? Minnesota. A balanced series on paper that promises to be very interesting. After all, there will be a reunion between Draymond Green and Rudy Gobert.
The web is aflame for Rudy Gobert and Draymond Green
There’s no need to go into the history between the two men. Between the stranglehold and the tackles for DPOY, it’s fair to say that the story is there, even if Gobert is only concerned with the final victory. It’s a place in the Western Conference Finals that’s at stake, and count on everyone to give 100%. But the fans are also hoping for some trouble.
@myguyknowsball : “We’ve all been waiting for this series between Draymond Green and Rudy Gobert, and now it’s time.”
@SJBasketball8: “The truth is, I’m afraid of what could happen in this series between the Warriors and the Timberwolves. Draymond just might take it out on Gobert.”
@JoshEberley : “Rudy Gobert versus Draymond Green, the duel we all wanted.”
@yoitsguin : “The duel between Gobert and Draymond will be fun, but the Wolves will above all demolish their old team.”
So, admittedly, we don’t know if the Wolves are going to get the better of us, but we can imagine that this series will be very tense, just like these playoffs. Gobert and Green will have a lot to answer for in this second round, and both players will be keen to show who’s the better defender in this postseason. And that’s sure to please the fans.
It’s worth remembering that Rudy’s confidence is sky-high after the carnage he wreaked on the Lakers, even if things will be different with the Dubs opposite. However, the Angelinos have bad memories of Gobert’s time here, as evidenced by Rui Hachimura’s comments about the Frenchman.
