NBA – Charles Barkley confronts Anthony Edwards after Game 1 flop: “He has got to do this”

Like his team, Anthony Edwards was largely unimpressive in Game 1 against the Warriors. Charles Barkley was quick to give him a hard time after the game, and we’re now waiting for the Minnesota superstar’s reaction on the court.

The start of the series could hardly have gone any worse for the Timberwolves. Rudy Gobert and his teammates have already lost home-court advantage after the Warriors beat them in Game 1 (99-88). And this despite the fact that the Warriors were without Stephen Curry for the entire second half…

It has to be said that the Wolves weren’t helped by their own performance, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. With a shooting success rate of just 39.5%, they didn’t shine in terms of address, and even less so from three-point range (5/29). Anthony Edwards’ performance last night was a perfect illustration of this.

Charles Barkley destroys Anthony Edwards after Game 1 loss

Although he ultimately tallied 23 points and 14 rebounds, the guard’s first half was a total washout, with just a single point scored. Far too few when his team seriously needs him on offense, and when he’s supposed to be their main weapon. All the more reason for Charles Barkley to give him a big scolding on TNT:

You said you wanted the smoke. “I want the Warriors.” And you got them. You had one point at halftime. And his energy level was down. When you’re the man, you get all the credit, but you get all the blame. That’s the way it works. Ant has got to play better. You can’t come out and talk all that noise and have one point (in the first half), plain and simple.

Having eliminated LeBron James, Luka Doncic and the Lakers in the first round, Ant-Man was hoping to do the same to Golden State. So far, that’s not going well… He’ll have to be a much better player in Game 2, while Minnesota already has no room left for error. As far as fans are concerned, however, there are few illusions about the former first pick in the draft:

@SportsTrollerX : Finally someone who isn’t just desperately trying to convince us that Ant is/will be the face of the league

@The0nlyWill : People said he MJ 😂😂

@PMR777200542481 : That’s why I’ve never been comfortable with this guy being prematurely and undeservedly compared to MJ. MJ on his worse playoff day would never score no one point in a half!
