Stephen Curry has yet to return for the Warriors, and it’s unclear whether he’ll be able to play again in the second round of the playoffs. And even for his team-mates, it’s impossible to replace such a player when you know his impact.
Game 4 between the Wolves and Warriors is approaching and, unsurprisingly, Stephen Curry won’t be in attendance. He will be re-evaluated this Wednesday by the Warriors’ medical staff, hopefully with some good news regarding his injury. In any case, we’ll have to be patient about the Chief’s return, as he’s far from recovered at this stage.
For, in addition to the injury, there’s also the risk of a relapse for Curry, who knows he’ll have to be careful as soon as he sets foot again in an official game. For the time being, therefore, the Dubs are preparing to manage the rest of this series without him, while the Timberwolves want to put an end to it as soon as possible. But Game 4 in Golden State promises to be a red-hot affair.
Warrior opens up about losing Stephen Curry
Steve Kerr will no doubt be counting on his best players in Jimmy Butler and Buddy Hield. This is probably the best time for the Dubs to win a game and potentially give Curry the rest he needs to get back in time for the second round of the playoffs. But as you can imagine, replacing him is mission impossible.
That was Hield’s admission to the media this weekend. Everyone’s trying to do a bit more for the Warriors in Curry’s absence, but replacing him or emulating his contribution is technically impossible. The former Pelicans player was full of praise for his team-mate, underlining his contribution from the bench.
Buddy Hield on Stephen Curry : “No one is capable of replacing him, especially with all he does. If you come in thinking you can fill his role, you’re crazy. He does so much for this team. Everyone would like to do what he’s capable of doing. He’s blessed. But that’s Steph Curry. He’s always helping the players, he talks very often.”
Despite his injury, Curry remains a valuable asset for the Warriors, willing to do anything to help his partners. And knowing that Hield is also a respected shooter, the Chief no doubt has some valuable advice to give him for the rest of these playoffs. Dubs fans will be hoping it’s enough to win Game 4, which could change everything in this second round.
