Although he hasn’t yet asked to leave, some franchises are standing by regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s availability on the market. The Spurs are expected to pull out, with the team starting to come into its own.

Whether Giannis Antetokounmpo will leave the Bucks remains to be seen. Shams Charania confirmed earlier in the week that the superstar wasn’t closing the door for the first time in his career, but we imagine his managers are hoping to convince him that he belongs in Wisconsin. And yet, it’s not the best place to win a second championship.

With a disappointing roster, limited resources and, on top of that, the serious injury to Damian Lillard, who may return before the playoffs if all goes well, the future looks pretty bleak for the Bucks. The franchise will have to be creative to convince the Greek Freak, which is why many believe that his departure is in fact a foregone conclusion.

The Western Conference for Giannis Antetokounmpo?

But where to? For the past few weeks, the star has been linked to Texas, a state that has no income tax. A detail that interests the player according to journalist Sam Amico, but the Spurs aren’t the only ones concerned. According to the latest rumors, San Antonio is set to keep its second draft pick, putting an end to the Giannis rumor mill.

While the Mavericks are expected to do the same with Cooper Flagg, this leaves a freeway for the Rockets, who are looking for a big scorer to take the next step in the Western Conference. And according to insider Kurt Helin, Houston would be willing to go to great lengths to recruit the Bucks’ star.

@esidery : “Per Kurt Helin, The Rockets would be open to trading Alperen Sengun in a package for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Houston could build a very compelling trade for the Bucks centered around Sengun, prospects and draft capital.”

Although Houston didn’t have too much luck in this draft with a 10th-round pick, the franchise has relevant assets to lead negotiations with the Bucks. It’s probably not the most interesting deal on the market, but it’s a start for Milwaukee. Sengun could pay the price, and perhaps other players, such as Jabari Smith. After all, it will take a mountain of assets to get Giannis back in his prime.
