Beaten in the second round of the playoffs, the Warriors believe they had a real chance of winning the title with Stephen Curry around. So for this summer, the franchise would have made an important choice… but one that may not please everyone.

Stephen Curry’s injury was a game-changer for the Warriors in these playoffs. We don’t know if Steve Kerr’s men could have beaten Minnesota with him, but they certainly would have had a better chance. Today, however, they refuse to panic and are confident that this team will have another opportunity in 2026.

The problem is that Golden State’s roster isn’t getting any younger. Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler and Curry are all at least 35 years old, and some are worried about next season. Not the front office, which would obviously like to rely on this trio to win the championship. However, they will need help in the paint, as Green has shown his limitations in the post 5.

The Warriors’ risky strategy

A pivot is needed in Golden State, which will have to manage some competition with the Lakers to name but one. But beyond that, have the Dubs planned any major changes? One example is the case of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who some dream of seeing at the Warriors to play alongside Curry in the future.

According to Brian Windhorst, this can’t be ruled out, but ClutchPoints has another version. According to Brett Siegel, the Warriors want to focus on continuity above all else. The aim would therefore be to keep the Big 3 together and simply change the contours of the roster. No major changes in sight for the franchise this summer, according to the insider.

@ClutchPoints : “Sources told Brett Siegel that the Warriors are NOT expected to swing for the fences on a Giannis or other superstar trade this offseason in order to keep Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler together.”

Curry is untouchable, as is Butler after a crazy contribution this season. But should Green receive the same treatment after his campaign? There’s some debate. For while his impact remains significant, his attitude has still plagued the Dubs at certain key moments, including in the playoffs. Many fans are now calling for his departure.
