While the verdict is expected to fall soon for Giannis Antetokounmpo, rumors are rife for the Bucks star. And the latest one has not been slow to cause controversy among fans.
Bucks fans know that this week is going to be important for the future of this organization. Giannis Antetokounmpo could ask to be traded to a better team for the title, or he could reaffirm his confidence in Milwaukee. Impossible to know more at this stage, especially as rumors abound.
For many fans, it’s clear that the Bucks don’t have what it takes right now to win the title. The franchise was in trouble against Indiana, even with Damian Lillard, while his injury changes everything for the next campaign. Remember that a player can take around 9 to 10 easy months to recover from a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Giannis in the East for 2026?
That’s why it wouldn’t be crazy for Giannis to leave this summer. We know the Bucks won’t try to stop him, but count on them to demand a historic quid pro quo to go through with it. After all, the Greek Freak doesn’t have the ability to apply pressure, so he’ll have to think hard about his decision.

Real story? We highly doubt it, especially since it’s SAS behind the rumor. But other insiders have hinted at Giannis’ potential interest in New York, a city the player greatly appreciates. As it happens, the Knicks have quite a few trump cards up their sleeve at the moment, no doubt making it possible to make a handsome offer for the superstar. But do they want to do it when they’re in the Eastern Conference Finals? That remains to be proven.
