After yet another disappointment, the Warriors are expected to make some adjustments this summer. Stephen Curry is looking for recruits, and a first name is starting to circulate to bolster their squad. It remains to be seen whether the fans will be convinced.
Beaten by the Wolves in the second round of the playoffs, the Warriors missed their target. Frustrating when you consider that Stephen Curry was injured, but that’s why the franchise wants to remain confident for next year. Despite an aging roster on paper, Golden State still believes it has a real chance of winning the championship.
Major changes this summer? Unlikely, but not necessarily impossible either. They already hit it big in February with the arrival of Jimmy Butler, so it’s unclear whether another major trade is possibly in the works. But rumors are already swirling for the Warriors this off-season.
Which Warriors recruit?
It has to be said that the Dubs need a few players to give themselves a better chance. A true pivot comes to mind, as the franchise clearly needs size in the racket. But according to insiders, the Warriors would also like a good winger to give them a boost. And there’s one name that’s coming back with insistence.
According to betting site Bovada, Michael Porter Jr could leave the Nuggets and the Warriors are the favorites to get him ahead of the Bulls and Lakers according to them. So nothing’s been confirmed yet, but it’s not impossible with the possible sweep of Denver following their elimination. It’s something to keep an eye on.
@TheDunkCentral : “According to Bovada, the Golden State Warriors are the favorites to get Michael Porter back. Golden State Warriors +300 Chicago Bulls +400 LA Lakers +600 Orlando Magic +700.”
We know that something is going on at the Nuggets this summer. Their elimination in the second round should not go unnoticed, and Porter Jr. could well pay the price. Even Russell Westbrook is rumored to be on his way out after an average season overall. The Warriors can take advantage of this, especially as the team could use Jonathan Kuminga as a sign-and-trade to try something on the market.
