The Pacers, the real surprise of these playoffs, struck again last night, defeating the Knicks in a legendary Game 1. This earned them a huge tribute from Caitlin Clark… and truth be told, it was more than earned.

It’s definitely a good time to be a basketball fan in Indiana. Whether it’s the men’s or women’s basketball, the game is a source of joy for the state’s residents on the courts. In the WNBA, the Fever can count on the biggest star of the moment in Caitlin Clark, who immediately took the league by storm upon her arrival via the 2024 draft.

In addition to blowing away the competition by being voted Rookie of the Year almost unanimously, the young player also demonstrated a huge impact on the team by taking the Fever from a bottom-of-the-table franchise to a playoff-qualified team. And while the 2025 WNBA season just got underway, CC is taking advantage of her free time to closely follow the Pacers’ progress in the NBA.

Caitlin Clark marvels at Pacers’ umpteenth comeback

In 2023-24, the latter surprised many by reaching the conference finals. Few thought they could repeat that feat this year. And yet… Whether it’s the Bucks, the Cavaliers, or the Knicks, no one seems able to stop their march forward. Especially when Tyrese Haliburton and company are behind late in the game.

Since 1997, the NBA has only seen four playoff wins after trailing by 7 or more points with 50 seconds left in the final quarter or overtime. Indiana has won three of them… this season! One per series, in fact, the latest coming last night in a completely crazy Game 1 against New York, which saw the Pacers regain home-court advantage.

Stunned by the masterful performance of her male counterparts, Caitlin Clark did not fail to pay tribute to them on her X account after the whistle, highlighting the mental strength of Rick Carlisle’s men:

PACERS ARE THE GREATEST COMEBACK TEAM IVE EVER SEEN

It’s ironic to have accomplished such a feat against the Knicks, who had surprised champion Boston several times in this way in the second round of the playoffs. For once, Jalen Brunson & co. found themselves on the wrong end of a comeback… and knowing Haliburton’s gang, it wouldn’t be too surprising if they continued to put on a show during the rest of the conference finals.
