Announced to return to the Lakers in a few months’ time for another season, will LeBron James be at 100% after his recent injury? The player gave us some news, and let’s just say it’s not perfect either.
It’s going to be a long summer for LeBron James, who still hasn’t dispelled any doubts about his possible retirement. Everyone expects him to be back with the Lakers by September, especially as Shams Charania and other insiders have been confirming the trend for some time. But will he return to Los Angeles? Is he planning to make his retirement official for the summer of 2026 now?
There are many questions about the end of the Akron native’s career, and he clearly wants to take his time, as he should. He’ll only have one retirement, and we imagine he won’t mind a league-wide farewell tour to end on a high note. We can therefore expect a possible announcement in the coming months.
LeBron James finally back on his feet?
But for the fans, the most important thing is to have a real chance of winning the championship. And for that, James will also need to be able to be at his best, even at 41 for December. And some have their doubts on the subject, with the player having suffered a serious knee injury against Minnesota.
We recall that LeBron was injured in Game 5 against the Wolves after contact with Donte DiVincenzo. He was limping as he left the room, and had the series continued, he would undoubtedly not have been able to continue playing. In his podcast, he gave some important news about this injury and its impact on the rest of the series.
LeBron James : “Like I said last episode, it’s been a hell of a lot better. It’s getting better though… It’s getting better. Even though I can’t do much as far as like lower body stuff, I’m still like in the weight room, still getting in upper body. I’m not a guy that likes to sit around. I have a lot of energy and I hate sitting around, so this has definitely been… almost two weeks after the season, they always tell you to take time off and I’m just not that guy. I’m going crazy right now, for sure”
Once retired, it looks like James will have to find a way to keep busy, but for now, he can keep working with the firm intention of being ready for September. His return seems to be a foregone conclusion, but it remains to be seen whether this will be his last campaign.
