Despite their confidence in their trio, the Warriors want to make some changes to their bench. But after a new lead was announced, an insider was quick to calm everyone down.

Beaten by the Wolves in the second round of the playoffs, the Warriors are still confident about the future. Many believe that with Stephen Curry, the franchise would undoubtedly have dominated Minnesota, and you’d have to think that’s the opinion of the front office. The Chief, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green should therefore have another chance for 2026.

This makes sense for the first two, less so for Green, who has been far from irreproachable in this campaign. His behavior has been ridiculous again, and he’s been dominated by Julius Randle throughout this series. Some fans are not averse to a potential departure, even if there aren’t many leads on the market at the moment.

Which Warriors recruit?

What’s pretty much certain is that Jonathan Kuminga is set to leave the franchise. He has been sanctioned several times by Steve Kerr, who explained this week that the Warriors couldn’t win if JK had a lot of minutes. Kuminga will leave with restricted free-agent status, but he could leave some assets behind with a sign-and-trade.

For which player in return? It’s hard to say, but an insider recently confirmed an interest in Derrick White. The Celtics could be renewing some of their roster, especially with Jayson Tatum’s long-term injury, and White could pay the price. But this Friday, Brett Siegel is saying something different on Twitter.

@BrettSiegelNBA : “League sources are insistent the Celtics have given zero indications that parting ways with Derrick White this summer is a possibility. Boston views White as an essential core player alongside Tatum and Brown.”

White should therefore continue in Massachusetts, in the hope of helping Boston play for the title while awaiting Tatum’s return. The Warriors could still go on the offensive this summer, but it looks like the Celtics have already made up their mind. One less interesting player on the market.
