Truly crushed 48 hours earlier, this time they approached the match in a much better way. The Thunder began Game 4 against the Timberwolves with a much more serious approach. So much so, in fact, that they were in the lead for most of the game on the scoreboard. They then went on to win by the narrowest of margins (128-126) and take the series by storm.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander still at the heart of the debate, he replies

While they can thank Jalen Williams (34 points, 6/9 3-pointers, 3 steals) for his contribution to this game, Mark Daigneault’s men can also once again salute the prowess of their leader, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Doris Burke: There’s contact on the elbow, but that’s why they call him a free-throw merchant.

Pointed out here by renowned ESPN commentator Doris Burke, Shai also was in the same way by some Target Center spectators. A phenomenon that came as no surprise to him, according to his comments in the press conference:

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: From my point of view, the fans do everything they can to help their team win and stop me from playing my game. That’s their job.

That’s what characterizes a home advantage, that’s what characterizes a fanbase, that’s what creates energy in the room. They want the Wolves to win, so I don’t expect anything else from them! As for the label they stick on my forehead, I don’t care. I’ve always been indifferent. I’ve already shot more free throws in other seasons (…) I see it as a bit of a compliment.

Undaunted by the criticism, the OKC star relished the fact that he had played the villain on enemy soil and come away with the win:

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: It’s great fun. It’s almost as good as playing at home (…) It’s my job to play well in conditions like this and kind of shut them up.
