Teammates just a few months ago, Anthony Davis and LeBron James are now rivals. Opponents who know each other like the back of their hand after years of playing together… The Brow also opened up about the Chosen One’s OCD recently.
There’s no denying that future clashes between the Lakers and Mavericks will be events not to be missed. First, there’s of course, the reunion between Luka Doncic and his former franchise, which traded him to everyone’s surprise a few months ago. A betrayal that the Slovenian is obviously still having a little trouble getting over, even though he claims to have moved on after playing for them for over six years.
But alongside that, it’s also an opportunity for Los Angeles to cross paths with Anthony Davis again. Traded to Dallas in exchange for El Matador, the big man left the franchise after having joined it back in 2019. A lifesaving arrival for the Purple and Gold, as they became NBA champions the following season, with The Brow proving to be extremely valuable in the famous Orlando bubble.
LeBron James’s strange locker room routine
In the years that followed, however, AD’s record with the Lakers was quite mixed. While he was certainly outstanding whenever he stepped on the court, the problem was that he didn’t play often due to being regularly hampered by injuries. It wasn’t until 2023-24 that the former Pelicans star played 70 games in a season… only for the franchise to part ways with him shortly afterward.
However, these mishaps haven’t stopped Davis from forming an unbreakable bond with LeBron James, the two men being the figureheads of their team. They’ve gotten to know each other inside and out, and not just during games. In a recent interview, AD opened up about his former teammate’s little habits… and the least we can say is that some of them are pretty strange:
One guy I know, the greatest of all time, if not the greatest. So once he gets to the arena, takes his entire uniform, from the jersey, the shorts, the socks, the shoes, everything, and lays it on the floor. And no one can touch it. And it’s like, it became a thing where you can’t even walk over it.
This isn’t the first time this anecdote about the King has surfaced, and it clearly hasn’t changed over time. It must be said that LeBron is a player attached to his routines, no matter the area. It’s what allows him to be at his best night after night, including psychologically… even if his approach may seem strange to his teammates.
