The subject of much debate these days in the NBA, Luka Doncic’s physical appearance was recently the subject of a speech by one of his Lakers teammates. And according to the latter, the current period would be conducive to a metamorphosis for the Slovenian.
After being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, it’s only logical that changes should be made within a franchise. The Lakers are no exception to the rule, and are expected to be active on the market this summer. Their directors are reportedly already targeting different player profiles and are also looking for a new fitness trainer. A search potentially linked to… Luka Doncic.
It has to be said that the Slovenian fullback’s weight has fuelled much debate since his arrival in Los Angeles. Deemed out of shape by some, the main man concerned nevertheless seems to have taken note of these criticisms and is ready to make them disappear. Indeed, his recent appearance in Madrid suggests that he has already lost a few kilos since the start of the off-season, which has not left his partners indifferent.
Markieff Morris supports Luka Doncic
On the set of First Take on Monday, Markieff Morris was invited to talk about Doncic’s physical condition. He began by explaining how difficult it is to stay in shape during an NBA season:
Markieff Morris: Luka’s my guy. And Stephen A. (Smith) is right when he talks about a special regimen during the season.
When you’re in the middle of the regular season and you only eat food from the hotels you’re in, when you arrive at 3am in different cities, when you have to eat at 4am during back-to-backs… All this has an impact on your body. There’s that stress, on top of the stress of having been traded during the season… Luka had to go through all that.
While he admits that his teammate was not in top form, Morris goes on to say that the summer is the ideal time to change that. A good omen for the Angelinos and their fans:
Markieff Morris: He’s back in Madrid and I know how much he loves the city. He’s back in his element, he’s having a good time and I’m not even sure he cares what he looks like at the moment.
He’s just happy that this season is over. Of course, I don’t think he’s happy with the way it ended, but in my opinion, he’s happy that it’s over. And as Stephen A. said, during the summer, you can really eat healthy, follow a diet to the letter, have a chef accompany you… Anything is possible when it comes to potential weight loss.
