After another wonderful season with Paris Basket, two-time French league MVP TJ Shorts is set to pack his bags. The NBA and Greece are two likely options, which will change his daily routine. There’s one thing he’ll miss about France.
In their first season in the EuroLeague, Paris Basket made a big impression by qualifying for the playoffs. And fans can take comfort in the fact that they were beaten, albeit rather soundly, by the eventual European champions. This campaign remains promising for the future, and could give them confidence in their quest for the Betclic Elite title.
Last season’s league MVP, TJ Shorts, retained his crown with another XXL season at national and international level. Selected in the EuroLeague’s top 5 with an average of 19 points, 7.3 assists and 2.6 rebounds, he made his mark with some big shots and decisive performances for his team.

Because he dominated in a surprise team, TJ Shorts obviously attracted the attention of the EuroLeague bigwigs. In fact, barring a major NBA offer, he is set to join Panathinaikos for one of Europe’s biggest salaries. He is likely to miss many things in the French capital, not least his culinary speciality. He spoke to Skweek:
I have to say that my favorite thing in Paris – you can ask any of my teammates – is this dessert called “brioche”. It’s a bit like French toast, they put ice cream on it and a bit of caramel. It’s my favorite thing in Paris and France. My favorite food is still Italian, or African-American.
Playing in Paris doesn’t just mean representing the French capital on the international stage, it also means enjoying a high quality of life. TJ Shorts, for example, was able to take advantage of the French gastronomy during his visit, and will leave with an eternal memory of brioches covered with a scoop of ice cream. In Greece, he will discover a much more Mediterranean cuisine.
