Kevin Durant is still being talked about with the Spurs, but his future in the league is likely to be decided very soon. And for some people, the Texans are clearly in a strong position in this matter.
Looking for reinforcements on the wing, the Spurs continue to scan the market, according to Shams Charania. It’s not yet clear whether they’ll attempt a sensational trade to achieve their goal, but the Texans wouldn’t be averse to the arrival of Kevin Durant or Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, nothing has been decided at this stage.
For the moment, everyone is waiting for Giannis to make up his mind about his future with the Bucks. Durant, for his part, seems destined to rebound with another team, but the Suns would like to pick up a few assets in exchange for the superstar. Except that, at nearly 37, it’s unlikely that any team will agree to give up much.
What attitude for Spurs this summer?
We can well imagine that San Antonio is interested in either of the two arrivals, but the front office will refuse to let go of a mountain of assets, especially in the case of KD. This makes no sense, and it’s worth remembering that his departure is important for the Suns, who need to get rid of his contract according to a few insiders. So they’re under pressure.
Between the Spurs and the Suns, it’s clearly the Texans who have the advantage, as Eric Salinas reminds us. Kevin Durant must leave or Phoenix could find itself in a contractual bind. A boon for interested teams like the Spurs, who will refuse to make a big offer either way.

The Spurs could potentially use Harrison Barnes to get Durant, in addition to Devin Vassell, considered a dispensable player today with the possible arrival of KD and the drafting of Dylan Harper in June. This could be interesting for the Suns, who will have to make a choice between now and free agency anyway.
