We know that the Lakers will be recruiting this summer, and not necessarily just at the pivot position, according to insiders. The franchise could also strengthen on the wing, with a player who has just been eliminated.

The Lakers’ priority for the upcoming off-season is simple and clear: recruit a center, or even two. With Jaxson Hayes on his way out with his free agent status, the franchise will have a big problem in the interior sector to start the summer. And when you see the problems against Rudy Gobert in the playoffs, recruiting is important for them.

That’s not to say that the Lakers will then be the favorites to win the title or that this is the only gap in the roster, but it’s a major first step for this team to reach its goal. In reality, we can also expect further moves on the market, with some fans clamoring for a better point guard than Gabe Vincent, to name but one.

The Purple and Gold could also use some help on the wing, with a few defensive gaps. But who to recruit? Some point to Andrew Wiggins, not untouchable with the Heat. But the Angelinos could also turn to other leads, including a recent elimination with the Timberwolves.

The target? Nickeil Alexander-Walker, beaten with Minnesota this week in the Western Conference Finals. A valuable player off the bench and highly appreciated by his team. The problem now is that he’ll be a free agent and could demand a bigger salary than his 4 million this season. Will the Wolves be able to afford it?

Unlikely, so for betting site Bovada, the Lakers have what it takes to attract him, for example with the mid-level exception.

A winger who contributes in all areas of the game? No doubt about it, NAW will have no trouble finding a team, and that’s the most important thing for him, in addition to a nice salary. We don’t really know how much he can expect, but with 9.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists, he’s a nice reinforcement for a franchise with title ambitions. What’s more, he’s a perfect match for the Lakers’ needs…
