Rob Pelinka knows that the fans are expecting him this summer, so the GM is likely to multiply proposals to strengthen the roster. An aggressive Lakers team is expected this summer, according to this insider.

With the defeat to the Wolves behind them, the Lakers are looking to turn their attention to the future, and once again have a chance of winning the title by 2026. It won’t be an easy mission when you consider the insane competition in the West, but JJ Redick’s men can believe it. Especially with Luka Doncic at the helm, and a summer full of promise.

While the Slovenian already seems to have lost a few kilos to reach his optimal shape, Rob Pelinka is intent on finding solutions to improve the quality of the roster. Not easy with the competition and sometimes difficult negotiations, but the Angelinos believe they have a shot at the title. From here, the front office must do what’s necessary.

A very aggressive Lakers team this summer?

The good news for this organization is that it has quite a few assets to tempt a move, in particular to improve the interior sector. There are outgoing contracts and assets with a first-round pick, Gabe Vincent and, of course, Dalton Knecht, whose future seems pretty clear in Los Angeles. Enough to make a few trades on the market.

As Bobby Marks confirms, we can expect an important period for the Lakers, where aggressiveness will be the watchword. The TalkBasket website has reported some of the journalist’s comments, explaining that the Angelinos will be looking to improve their roster and that they have the assets to do so.

TalkBasket : “According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the franchise is expected to be “extremely aggressive” as it navigates LeBron James’ final year under contract. Marks pointed to three primary factors shaping the team’s approach this summer: expiring contracts, frontcourt needs, and long-term planning beyond the LeBron era. The Lakers possess approximately $60 million in expiring deals, including Gabe Vincent and Rui Hachimura, which could be used in trades to acquire immediate-impact players.”

The Angelinos therefore have the assets for several trades and Pelinka would be well advised to prepare for the post-LeBron era, who could retire at the end of this next campaign. Might as well not wait until the last moment.
