It’s not yet known whether Giannis Antetokounmpo will leave the Bucks, but it’s certainly a possibility in the coming weeks. One franchise is reportedly already prepared to make a big offer for the star.
The future of the Bucks should be decided in the coming weeks. Giannis Antetokounmpo could ask to jump ship to join a better ring contender, or he could reaffirm his confidence in the Milwaukee organization. At this point, it’s impossible to know more, although the Bucks are preparing for anything.
We know that the franchise has inquired about certain prospects in the upcoming draft, proof that Milwaukee is preparing to lose Giannis and pick up plenty of assets in return. Needless to say, the quid pro quo would be insane for a player in his prime who plays MVP every season. The kind who can win you the title.
Giannis Antetokounmpo still in the East for 2026
Many franchises will want to attract the services of such a player, but the Knicks are one to watch. Eliminated from the playoffs, this franchise doesn’t lack much to have a real chance of winning the title. Giannis? He’d definitely be a plus for the organization, and word is that an offense is in the works.
At least, that’s what Gery Woelfel shared in a recent message on Twitter on Friday. He explains that the Knicks are ready to make a completely insane offer for the Greek Freak, as well as to Jason Kidd for a meeting between the two men. New York is also looking for a coach after Tom Thibodeau’s dismissal.
@GeryWoelfel : “Could there be a Giannis Antetokounmpo-Jason Kidd reunion in New York? There’s a report the Knicks are asking Dallas officials permission to speak to Kidd about their vacant head coaching position. Yesterday I was told the Knicks are preparing to make a tsunami-type offer to acquire Antetokounmpo from the Bucks. Kidd once coached Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee.”
There’s no telling how close Kidd and Giannis are, but maybe the Knicks think they are, to the point of bringing the duo together on the Big Apple side. Not sure the coach is the most interesting here, as it’s the Greek Freak who could be the game-changer. But to get him, you’d have to drop a crazy offer… and the Knicks just happen to have what it takes.
