It’s been a few days since insiders announced a decisive meeting for Giannis Antetokounmpo with the Bucks, but nothing to date. Is the star really on his way out? The league is starting to have doubts.
With the Bucks eliminated again in the first round and Damian Lillard sidelined with a long-term injury, the Bucks are not in a happy mood at the moment. The departure of Khris Middleton has disappointed many, and Kyle Kuzma has never been able to give the slightest satisfaction since his arrival. That’s why many people think that Giannis Antetokounmpo will leave.
The player is supposed to make a decision during the month of June, but nothing has happened yet. Some insiders believe that a choice will be made at the draft or shortly thereafter, leaving doubt and embarrassing some teams. Indeed, many are waiting for Giannis’ decision before making moves.

But other teams don’t have much choice at the moment. Giannis is planning to take his time, which also suggests that a departure is increasingly unlikely in Wisconsin. Giannis could finally extend his stay with the Bucks, despite the slim chances of winning a championship from now on.
The same goes for Kevin Durant, according to Jake Fischer. If the two players don’t make a move, many people across the league will be disappointed. But the more the days go by, the less confidence there is. In other words, June is far from over.
Jake Fischer: “Everyone in the league wants to know how the summer is going to play out, and (regarding Giannis), the expectation among league insiders is that he’ll ultimately stay with the only franchise he’s ever played for.”
Disappointing for the Spurs, Knicks and other interested franchises if that’s the case. We can’t say it’s a total surprise either, as asking for a trade is never easy. But the soap opera isn’t over just yet, with possible twists and turns in the month of June. After all, other teams could still go on the offensive.
