Rumored to be on the way out, Kevin Durant’s future should be decided this June, possibly before the draft. And while the Spurs are being mentioned, another Eastern franchise could be joining the party.

After an unsuccessful season with the Suns, Kevin Durant quickly found himself the subject of trade rumors. Anything but a surprise, given that Phoenix had already tried to trade the star in February at the deadline. The deal with the Warriors was even close, before the player himself asked Golden State to back off.

And if the trade didn’t go through, the intention was there for the Suns. So after a playoff-less campaign and numerous behind-the-scenes changes, it’s hard to see how the Slim Reaper can stay. A recent detail that seals the deal? To choose the new coach, the Suns consulted Devin Booker, while Durant was not invited.

Kevin Durant on his way to the Eastern Conference?

Further confirmation that Durant is on his way out. Will the Suns find their match? That’s another question, but everything suggests that the winger will have to bounce elsewhere for 2026, and for example to the Spurs, or the Wolves. But there are other teams, such as the Raptors, who are ready to take the offensive.

A few years ago, Toronto shocked the market with the arrival of Kawhi Leonard, only to win the title a year later. Perhaps the franchise is planning another move, as it would like to combine Durant with Scottie Barnes in particular. In any case, insider Jake Fischer claims that something is afoot in Canada.

Jake Fischer : “Toronto has likewise been painted by numerous NBA figures as a potential trade suitor for Durant … particularly if Antetokounmpo doesn’t reach the open market. The Raptors, furthermore, would figure to have a more realistic shot at assembling a competitive trade offer for Durant compared to the mammoth offers that the Bucks would inevitably seek for Antetokounmpo’s services.”

The Raptors, much like the Spurs, are far from a title contender today. So is the franchise right to be so aggressive and not attempt a rebuild? The fans won’t complain. In the event of a deal, we can imagine, for example, that RJ Barrett will be involved, as he is being pushed towards the exit in Toronto.
