A simple spectator of the NBA Finals, Draymond Green is also attentive to the NBA news circulating on social networks. So he didn’t miss Victor Wembanyama’s recent transformation and made sure to comment on it.
While his rival Chet Holmgren has been in the news up until now for his understated performances in the NBA Finals, he has found another way to fuel discussions. Not that this was Victor Wembanyama’s objective, as he prefers to remain in the shadows as much as possible. Even more so in the last few days, as he has embarked on a spiritual retreat with… Chinese monks:

Victor Wembanyama leaves Draymond Green in disbelief
Determined to enjoy a lull in his off-season, Wembanyama decided to execute a strict 10-day plan, which included shaving his head. Much to the amusement of the NBA community, including Draymond Green, who declared on his podcast:
Draymond Green: I saw a meme that said, “Oh oh, Wemby’s already gone bald, it’s over for the league”! (Laughs)
A fan of Internet jokes, the Warriors inside man didn’t immediately laugh when he discovered his counterpart’s metamorphosis. According to him, he first asked… about his state of health:
Draymond Green: I have a lot of respect for anyone who practices their religion and follows their beliefs, whatever they may be.
That said, I was a little surprised when I saw these photos. But I guess in 2025, you can’t be surprised by any photo anymore! But yeah, my first reaction when I saw it was to wonder if he was in San Antonio and if he was okay. Remember, his season ended because of a blood clot, so I kept saying my prayers to him. I hope this means he’s okay.
Draymond can rest assured that Wemby seems to be doing well, which is why he is currently enjoying his stay in China to the full. All that remains now is to hope that this change of scenery will prove beneficial for him and the rest of his career. In any case, Spurs must keep their fingers crossed… as must his opponents, who wish him well above all else.
