Regularly mentioned at the Spurs, Kevin Durant could also sign a new contract in the near future. Not surprising given the player’s form, even if it could be his last big deal given his age, according to some experts.
June is well underway and we’re still waiting to find out where Kevin Durant will be playing next season. The possibility of him staying with the Suns is looking increasingly remote, especially as Phoenix would like some assets in the draft, which takes place on June 25. And it just so happens that the Spurs can help with just that.
With the 14th pick available, as opposed to the 2nd, San Antonio has a very interesting asset to send to the Suns, in addition to a player like Devin Vassell or Keldon Johnson. And then, KD will be very close to 40, which means he’s not likely to sign a big new contract. He could get a nice salary, but only for one year, for example, a bit like LeBron James now. But for now, the player would like to know where he’ll be playing in a few months’ time.
