After his second stint with Cleveland, LeBron James moved to Los Angeles with the idea of planning his post-career. From a business point of view, there’s nothing to complain about, since he’s become a billionaire in the City of Angels. From a sporting point of view, however, a more judicious decision would have been in order.
The Cavaliers’ two departures were very different for LeBron James. In 2010, between leaving without having won a single title and announcing his decision on a much-criticized show, the atmosphere was explosive. Fans burned his jerseys and the owner wrote him an angry letter expressing his disappointment.
In 2018, on the other hand, because he had given Cleveland its first title in decades, and because his managers were struggling to build a roster capable of competing with the Warriors, everyone understood his desire to go elsewhere. He was getting on in years, and his fans wanted to see him retire in a more welcoming environment than Ohio, so Los Angeles was a logical and respected choice.
LeBron James could have signed for the Nuggets in 2018
What we tend to forget over time is that other franchises were on the case, and that LeBron could have given another dimension to his career and legend by making a choice other than the Lakers. Internet users have just come across a tweet from the time that could have changed the course of history.
Nuggets focused on LeBron, has been in contact with his agent and will “aggressively” pursue meeting, per @ChrisMannixYS https://t.co/L9tIhcuGWl pic.twitter.com/5PoxfCGugh

In the summer of 2018, Nikola Jokic wasn’t yet an All-Star, not yet an MVP, he was just a promising pivot who didn’t even know the smell of the playoffs. If LeBron James knew what was to become of the Serbian, he might have listened more carefully to the Nuggets’ offer. According to Internet users, the King would now be tied with Michael Jordan for the most rings if he signed in Colorado:
@ReviveMarc : jokic and bron probably three peated by now and have multiple finals appearances together lol
@idcstfumaynee : 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023… maybe an injury in one of those years so ye
@Gary_Coopah : Bronze said let me play for Jeanie Buss and Roberta Pelinker
