Many rumors have been circulating about the Lakers in recent weeks, and even possible suggestions. As the franchise searches for a potential center, an insider confirms that the Angelinos would welcome a meeting…
Between the defense and the lack of a true center, or a true point guard if you leave out Luka Doncic, the Lakers have their work cut out for them this summer. That’s not to say it’s a disaster, but let’s just say that Rob Pelinka has his work cut out for him to give Doncic and his team-mates a real chance of winning the championship.
There have been a number of rumors in recent weeks, notably about Daniel Gafford and even Nic Claxton. But the Angelinos could also strengthen with the arrival of a point guard, with Gabe Vincent cited as a possible asset in a trade. And for Jovan Buha, the name of Lonzo Ball should not be ruled out.
A possible return to the Lakers?
It’s worth remembering that Ball has been feeling better for a few months now, after a serious knee problem. He has even signed an extension with the Bulls, confirming his return to form. We can’t expect him to play 82 games, but it’s a first victory. And as far as Buha is concerned, the Lakers are in favor of a return to the City of Angels.
Jovan Buha : “I do, I think they would be. It’s just a matter of what his price is and you have to factor in his health and the history there… you can’t even pencil him in for 60 games.”
Back in shape or not, doubts still hang over Ball’s health, who is far from the league’s most assiduous player today.
So in the event of a trade, these concerns would inevitably have to be reflected at quid pro quo time. It will be possible to send some assets, but don’t count on the Angelinos or other franchises to make a big push.
Buha confirms that the player’s health will remain a mystery whatever happens:
Jovan Buha : “So whatever you’re giving up for him, there has to be some level of a discount or you’re factoring in this dude might just play 40 or 50 games… he’s a guy you have to load manage. How can we load manage him to get to April in one piece.”
