With Milwaukee heading straight for a brick wall, everyone expected Giannis Antetokounmpo’s departure to be inevitable. However, the situation is very different just days before the draft, as an insider recently revealed…

In principle, two superstars were supposed to dominate the transfer market this summer: Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The former was almost sent elsewhere by the Suns in February, while the latter no longer seems able to fulfill his title ambitions with the Bucks, who have suffered three consecutive eliminations in the first round of the playoffs. These two elite players should have been courted by franchises.

And yet, the first doesn’t really seem to pique the interest of NBA executives, as the leads are dwindling by the day, even though five teams are still in the game. At this point, we don’t even know if KD will actually leave Phoenix during the summer… A finding that would also apply to Giannis in Wisconsin.

No departure planned for Giannis Antetokounmpo?

Insider Brian Windhorst made some disturbing revelations about the double MVP on the show Get Up, while the Greek is surrounded by numerous rumors:

Right now, there is no Giannis Antetokounmpo trade market, there is no Giannis Antetokounmpo trade discussions. He has not asked for it. The Bucks are not looking to trade him.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has gone overseas to travel with his family. He has made no trade request to the Bucks. He has made no trade hint to the Bucks. The Bucks are proceeding with their offseason as if Giannis is going to be with them. And there are no significant trade talks, right now. Now, he can change all that with a simple request, but that request hasn’t happened. And it’s not clear that request is going to happen anytime soon.

We had heard that the 2021 NBA champion had his sights set on Toronto or the Spurs, where he could have formed a terrifying frontcourt alongside Victor Wembanyama, but it doesn’t actually seem to be the case. In other words, the rumors surrounding his person have been greatly exaggerated, and naturally, this annoys fans.

@ColbyCheese84: I understand it’s all for engagement and views, but it annoys me that these “insiders” and “journalists” can just flat make things up that aren’t remotely true and not face any consequences.

@CryMarie531: It would be nice if the NBA media heads didn’t salivate at the idea of Giannis leaving Milwaukee for a bigger market. They all hate the idea that he was happy staying in the smaller market.
