After another failed season and a bad draft pick to boot, the Wizards could be making some major decisions in the coming weeks. And it’s the roster that could take a hit.

Still at the bottom of the Eastern Conference and without a big draft pick to get them back on track, the Wizards are in a difficult situation. Bilal Coulibaly and Alex Sarr have become important pieces, but Washington may be looking for the most complicated thing right now: that future star capable of helping the organization turn a corner and dream of the playoffs, or even the title down the road.

Can Bilal and Alex become that player? Maybe, but let’s just say that fans have their doubts. Most likely, the Wizards will keep on looking, especially as the coming season promises to be another complicated one for them. A few changes are therefore possible in this roster, with one element coming back with insistence.

A move for the Wizards?

Indeed, Jordan Poole is a very divisive name in the Capital. He’s an interesting player, of course, who helps young players a lot with the experience he gained with the Warriors at the start of his career. But his role displeases some fans, who think his trade is not out of the question for the foreseeable future.

According to Rafael Barlowe, this trade could actually happen soon. Perhaps as early as this summer, as the Wizards are not completely against the idea, according to the journalist. We’re a long way from that at the moment, but Washington needs to find some assets, and knowing that the team isn’t going anywhere with Poole, his trade might not be the worst idea.

Rafael Barlowe : «Also worth noting — around the league, there’s growing belief that Jordan Poole could be moved, either on draft night or later this summer. That potential shake-up adds another layer to Washington’s draft strategy and could open up a path for a new backcourt face.»

It’s hardly a total surprise for the Wizards. Poole is a talented player, but he’s been struggling to reach a new milestone for some time now, if only to take his team to the playoffs. His managers could give him another chance next season, or trigger another major trade on the NBA market.
