NBA – Hard blow for Alex Sarr at the Wizards? His mentor is on his way out!

The Wizards are still a long way from playing the leading roles in the Eastern Conference, which is why the team’s veterans could be traded over the summer, starting with Jordan Poole. But he’s not the only one, and that’s a shame for Alex Sarr.

Because the lottery has not been kind to the Wizards, the directors are going to have to make some big decisions for the future of the franchise. Indeed, last season’s objective was fairly obvious: lose as many games as possible to get prodigy Cooper Flagg back in the draft. If the first part of the plan was a “success”, they’ll have to make do with the sixth pick in a few weeks’ time.

Although the outlook remains rather gloomy in the American capital, there are grounds for hope. Bub Carrington, Bilal Coulibaly, Alexandre Sarr and Kyshawn George show promise, and in a few years’ time, they could form a competitive group in the Eastern Conference. For that to happen, they need to be given room to express themselves, which is why rumors are flourishing around the Wizards.

Marcus Smart evacuated by the Wizards this summer?

For example, Jordan Poole, who is supposed to represent Washington’s future, could be released in the event of a good offer. The same applies to veteran Marcus Smart, which would be a major blow for Alex Sarr. The former DPOY clearly announced that he wanted to take the Frenchman under his wing, a plan that would fall through in the event of a trade.

The Wizards would like to send Marcus Smart to a title contender, but at the moment there is little, if any, interest in him. Perhaps he’ll be one of the players traded in a later phase of free agency, when the big teams have passed on their priority targets.

Despite the Wizards’ desire to trade him, Marcus Smart isn’t having much success on the market. At the age of 31, he is no longer considered a plan A by teams looking to strengthen their ranks, and will have to wait several more weeks before finding a potential landing spot. Rest assured, he’s still highly rated by fans:

@TruckBon : brad stevens u know what to do

@WalitoWorldwide : This league got a weird relationship with winners who don’t score 20 a night. Smart got heart, grit, leadership—and apparently that’s a fallback now.

@Big12Pokes : Thunder adding another defensive guard
