If the various echoes received by the most influential insiders in the business are to be believed, NBA news is likely to be ultra-charged this summer. In the run-up to Eurobasket, the world of basketball is likely to be buzzing with the latest signings and trades within the league. Several major transfers could well take place in the coming weeks, involving some truly superstar players.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, the subject of numerous rumors of this kind, is no longer necessarily on his way out of Milwaukee. On the other hand, Kevin Durant is likely to pack his bags soon, even if doubts are beginning to creep in. In any case, the latter should be settled before the draft, as should another involving a big name.

Paul George traded by the 76ers before the Draft?

The subject of many fantasies, the Draft and the prospects it includes can lead to big moves on the NBA market. This includes the 76ers, who currently have the 3rd pick but wouldn’t mind parting with it if it meant they could come out on top in their eyes. In this regard, Andy Larsen revealed on the Locked On Jazz podcast that they would be looking to part with… Paul George:

Andy Larsen: I think it’s true that the Philadelphia 76ers are interested in the possibility of moving back in the Draft and potentially picking up the #5 pick, if it allows them to get rid of Paul George’s contract in the deal.

Recruited last summer on an XXL four-year, $212 million contract, the star winger clearly failed to deliver in his first season in Philadelphia.

Regularly injured, PG13 has not performed impeccably on the court in recent months. It would therefore come as no surprise if his managers were willing to sell him on the open market and send him to the Jazz. Problem: Utah wouldn’t really be tempted by this opportunity. The Salt Lake Tribune reporter continues:

Andy Larsen: I don’t necessarily think it would make much sense for the Jazz, knowing how long Paul George’s contract is and how questionable his physique is. I don’t think the Jazz will accept this offer. Having said that, I do believe it’s an offer that’s been passed on to them.

It remains to be seen whether this stance will change in the coming days.
