While their position on the Kevin Durant deal remains unclear, the Spurs are nonetheless capable of stimulating the market in other ways. For example, they could have picked up the XXL package they were recently offered… but would have declined.
Should they still be considered a plausible destination for Kevin Durant? Will their firm stance in this soap opera eventually bear fruit? These are all questions that remain unanswered by the Spurs. In any case, the franchise’s directors are not focusing their attention on this lead, and are in parallel canvassing for other potential major deals.
Spurs’ alleged big refusal sparks debate
The Spurs may be ambitious on the transfer market, but they could also hit the jackpot in the upcoming draft. Their No. 2 pick has a high value, which is why other teams are interested in him. Like the 76ers, who began talks on the subject a few days ago and, according to Brett Siegel, made a concrete offer… which was eventually declined:
