After failing to beat the Wolves in the first round of the playoffs, it’s clear that the Lakers have their work cut out for them this summer. But who should they take among all the pivots available on the market? Internet users have already come up with a few suggestions.

Rudy Gobert had fun against the Lakers in the playoffs. If he waited until the last game to destroy everything offensively (Jaxson Hayes wasn’t there opposite), he dominated defensively the rest of the time, spoiling opposing attacks many times over. So for the Angelinos, it can’t be said that the priority this summer is a real secret.

As Rob Pelinka confirmed to the media earlier in the week, the franchise will be recruiting a pivot to fill gaps in the roster. The departure of Anthony Davis was a major blow, and no one has been able to replace him. The Mark Williams trade was cancelled and now the front office will have to remedy the situation very quickly.

Which recruit for the Lakers?

But the big question now is: who to recruit on the open market? Williams is now out of the running, Naz Reid could be too expensive, while Brook Lopez is a credible possibility, but is he compatible with Doncic? Spectrum has compiled a short list of plausible players to join Los Angeles this summer.

Among them? Brook Lopez, Clint Capela, Myles Turner, Reid, Steven Adams and Andre Drummond. The market isn’t crazy, but several targets exist for the Angelinos. On Twitter, several Internet users have reacted, and many are lucid about the situation. Finding a quality post-5 won’t be an easy mission.

@killerzeebs : “In order: Naz Reid, Myles Turner and Steven Adams.”

@mittbaby23 : “The Lakers will have to take at least two inside players from the roster.”

@Lakersided310 : “For Myles Turner, we’d need a sign-and-trade. We can’t afford Naz Reid either. That leaves Lopez, Capela and Adams as the real pivots.”

These are interesting names for the Lakers, even if many believe that they will need to recruit two inside players to alleviate their current problems. That’s not necessarily untrue, but let’s not forget that the Angelinos will have other recruits to take, like a defensive winger for example. It looks like Pelinka is going to have to get creative.
