It’s hard to say that Nico Harrison has been enjoying great popularity since he decided to transfer Luka Doncic to the Lakers. In fact, the Dallas GM recently received some humiliating news, which fans consider to be payback.

As we all know, becoming a great franchise isn’t just about hard work on the court. What happens behind the scenes is just as much important, and without a quality front office, it’s hard to reach the top. In this respect, Sam Presti can be unanimously congratulated for his work, having built the Thunder with great patience and now reaping the rewards after a superb 2024-25 regular season.

Voted Executive of the Year a few hours ago, the architect of the Oklahoma City franchise easily beat off the competition. Rob Pelinka, who shook up the league in February by acquiring Luka Doncic, also made an appearance in the ranking… Conversely, Nico Harrison is nowhere to be seen, despite being the man who traded the Slovenian superstar to the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis.

Nico Harrison absent des votes pour le dirigeant de l’année

Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison did not receive any votes for NBA Executive of the Year.

You read that right : not a single vote for Harrison, whereas a year ago he was unanimously acclaimed for the arrivals of Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington. Things certainly move fast in the NBA… The leader’s disenchantment couldn’t be more obvious, and don’t count on Dallas fans to support him – far from it:

@MananaZoo : Figured someone from LA would have voted for him

@michaelthewei : He might have, if he had just done nothing this deadline.

@dcwildcat97 : But, as he proclaims it, did a great job.

Needless to say, the coming off-season promises to be decisive for Harrison. Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis must be extended in order to secure the franchise’s medium-term future and, above all, justify Luka Doncic’s forced move. If not, it wouldn’t be surprising if he were fired in order to move on.
