Still expected to be traded this summer, Kevin Durant still doesn’t know where he’ll be playing in a few months’ time. One franchise seemed to be in pole position to welcome him, but the reality would be very different according to one insider.
Where will Kevin Durant play next season? No one can answer that question with any certainty at the moment. He could stay with the Suns given the new GM’s ambitions, but let’s not forget that his departure will do the franchise a lot of good financially, allowing it to avoid NBA “sanctions” with the so-called “second apron”.
This would greatly limit Phoenix’s ability to recruit in the future, which also explains the rumors of KD’s departure for the coming off-season. But to where exactly? The Warriors won’t attempt a new offense, while the Heat are reportedly in retreat. Fortunately, a few franchises are said to be seriously interested in him.

The insider confirms that the Rockets wouldn’t have much interest in getting Durant back, even if a change of course remains possible after this elimination in the first round of the playoffs. But it’s understood that their preference might be Houston, in order to take back their picks.
