The Wolves took a narrow win over the Warriors on Saturday night, all with Rudy Gobert still important. The Frenchman continues to shine in these playoffs, although the job is far from over for Minnesota.
It was very close, but in the end, the Timberwolves succeeded in their mission: to take a win from the Warriors at home. Chris Finch’s men won 102-97 on Saturday night with a very tense end to the game, marked by Draymond Green’s 6 fouls, sent to the bench. Anthony Edwards woke up at the best of times with 36 units.
There’s a world in which Minnesota avoids Stephen Curry’s return as an encore. He could return in Game 6 at the earliest, but the Wolves still have the chance to end this series as early as Game 5 by winning the next two games. So count on Rudy Gobert and his partners to give it their all when you know what’s at stake.
Rudy Gobert shines again for Wolves
As for Gobert, he made the difference on defense in this game, as well as on offense with a precious basket in the final minutes. He compiled 9 rebounds, 13 rebounds including 4 offensive rebounds, and 4 assists. The Frenchman fulfilled his role to perfection, and Minnesota regained the lead in the second round of the playoffs.

@BigNateTwelve : “Wolves lucky to have Gobert to clean up mess”
@Tjonesonthenba : “At almost 32 years old, Rudy Gobert still runs the floor as well as almost any big I’ve seen in the last 10 years”
@jrichardgoodman : “Gobert leans on every possession , I know so many think he is a fraud , he is far from that”
Nevertheless, the series is far from over at this stage. The Wolves still need to win two games to advance to the next round, but also avoid a potential Stephen Curry comeback, which could complicate the end of this confrontation. The stakes are high for the Timberwolves, who will still be relying on Gobert in Game 4.
