Rumors surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo are rife, especially those linking him to San Antonio or the Lakers. But fans of these two franchises would be wise not to get their hopes up, if the latest revelations about the Greek are any guide…

While franchises like the Pacers and Timberwolves have already booked their place in the conference finals, the situation is much less rosy for the Bucks. They didn’t even survive the first round, being eliminated in five games by Indiana. As a consolation, they can say that the Cavaliers suffered the same fate despite finishing first in the East…

But as you can see, this isn’t the time for optimism in Wisconsin, especially with next season in mind. Not only will the franchise be without Damian Lillard in 2025 due to his torn Achilles tendon, but several starters could also leave the ship. Brook Lopez is on the way out, as is Giannis Antetokounmpo, after 12 years of loyal service.

The greatest player in Bucks history, the Greek Freak wants another title, and the chances of achieving it with Milwaukee seem slim in the years to come. That’s why many contenders see this as an opportunity to secure the services of the two-time MVP. The Spurs and the Lakers have been mentioned as potential prospects… but it could become particularly complicated for them.

Giannis more than willing to stay in the Eastern Conference

As insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson recently revealed, Giannis does indeed have some very specific requirements regarding his next destination:

If Giannis ever makes the leap and requests a trade — or if the Bucks see writing on the wall and explore preemptive options — he’ll want more than just a new jersey.

On me dit qu’il recherche trois choses : 1.

Unless the NBA decides to shake up its structure, neither San Antonio nor Los Angeles are in the Eastern Conference as of now. This would practically dash any hope of trading for the Hellenic superstar. It’s easy to understand why the Spurs are actively considering keeping their second overall draft pick, which could have been an attractive counterpart in a deal involving Alphabet.
