The All-NBA Rookie Teams have just been announced, and both Zaccharie Risacher and Alex Sarr received well-deserved tributes. However, one player missing from both teams is causing controversy online due to his performance.

Their respective debuts were timid, and ultimately, they were unable to close the gap on Stephon Castle in the ROY race. But Zaccharie Risacher and Alex Sarr, respectively the first and second picks in the last draft, still showed some very good things on the court in 2024-25. The voters were not mistaken, as the two Frenchmen were elected to the All-NBA Rookie Teams:

An absentee from the All-NBA Rookie Teams causes a stir

A very fine selection, indeed, although some members of the 2024 draft were snubbed by the final result. We’re thinking, for example, of Kyshawn George, Sarr’s teammate at the Wizards, who still received a few votes, or Isaiah Collier. The Jazz point guard’s non-selection angered some:

StatMuse (via X) : Isaiah Collier this season: 8.7 points and 6.3 assists per game. More AST than rookie John Stockton, Most AST by a rookie since Ja Morant and More AST than Steph, Giannis, Luka, Tatum. Didn’t make an All-Rookie Team.

Collier was clearly one of the few bright spots this season in Salt Lake City, which finished 2024-25 with the worst record in the entire league. However, it wasn’t all rosy either, as the 20-year-old still has serious shooting shortcomings (42% overall, including less than 25% from three-point range) and still needs to learn how to better manage the game (2.9 turnovers per game). So not everyone agrees:

@CriticGm : Over who???

@HornetsBeliever : “More AST Giannis and Tatum” is that supposed to be impressive for a PG lol?

@Squibble_JP3 : Bro he can’t shoot lmao shut the hell up
