Relatively active on social networks and in the media since the end of his season, LeBron James nevertheless failed to react to the results of the MVP voting. This, despite the fact that they enabled him to achieve an unprecedented feat.

His coronation as MVP was made official by the NBA, while his Serbian counterpart had to settle for 2nd place. The rest of the standings also need to be analyzed.

No fewer than fourteen voters included LeBron in their selection of five players, giving him a total of 16 points and putting him ahead of Cade Cunningham, Anthony Edwards and Stephen Curry. Anecdotal for some, this relative honor is in fact a new record for the King. A record previously held by none other than… Michael Jordan.

At the end of the 2001-02 season, Jordan, then aged 39, had also inherited votes in the MVP election, finishing in 13th place. At 40 years of age, LBJ outdid his illustrious predecessor and became the oldest player in NBA history to collect points in this poll. Yet another prestigious symbol of his insane longevity.
