While the Wolves bounced back perfectly against the Thunder on Saturday night, the Knicks are hoping to do the same against the Pacers to end the weekend on a high note. And to that end, the franchise is reportedly already making a major change behind the scenes.
In front of their home crowd, the Wolves crushed the Thunder on Saturday night to get their series back on track. They’ll have another chance with Game 4, and let’s just say the Knicks are hoping to do the same. But there’s a major difference, as the next two games will take place in Indiana. Tom Thibodeau’s men will need to be solid if they are to dream of a grand final.
Finding yourself 0-3 in the conference finals is without doubt the worst possible news. Tyrese Haliburton is having fun up front, well helped by Pascal Siakam, determined to take on the Thunder or Wolves next. But watch out for the reaction on the other side, as New York may be planning some changes behind the scenes.
Knicks finally ready to react?
One man has often been criticized in recent days for his choices: Tom Thibodeau. The coach has been the subject of debate for his sometimes questionable rotations in New York, and there’s no doubt that he’s largely responsible for what’s going on in this Finals right now. Fans want a reaction, and they’re clearly going to get one at least.
Faced with a struggling interior sector, the Knicks could make some changes. Rather than lining up Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson together, the franchise could put another player in the major 5 instead, and not the least: Josh Hart. His importance is well known, and he should be promoted for Game 3.
@LegionHoops : “REPORT: The Knicks are expected to replace Josh Hart with Mitchell Robinson in the starting lineup for Game 3 vs. Pacers.”
So we don’t know if it will be enough to make the difference, but the franchise at least has the merit of trying something different. Robinson remains important to his team, of course, especially with his defense, but his duo with Towns isn’t necessarily the most productive in the world right now. A Josh Hart should do a lot of good, as he shines in all areas of the game. But watch out for the Pacers’ response.
