Draymond Green, in addition to being an important player, is also an important media figure in the NBA microcosm. He’s a consultant for TNT, he has his own podcast, clearly, he doesn’t stop. Stephen Curry will clearly never follow his example.

Over the years, relations between professional athletes and the mainstream media have deteriorated. Between rumor-mongering, quotes taken out of context and journalists’ sometimes trenchant opinions, many athletes prefer to communicate with fans in other ways. Social networks are a good alternative for them.

And in the NBA microcosm, podcasts are all the rage. Whether it’s former league players like Jeff Teague or current stars like Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Trae Young or Draymond Green, many are willing to express their views without filters. Even LeBron James got in on the act, first with JJ Redick, then with Steve Nash.

Stephen Curry soon in the world of podcasts?

If there’s one person who keeps a low profile, though, by not appearing on his friends’ shows, it’s Stephen Curry. The Warriors point guard is one of the biggest stars in history, he’s a popular player, his word would be particularly appreciated by fans. But as he told Jon Youshaei, he doesn’t see the point of podcasts.

You’ll never see me hosting a podcast like Draymond Green. There are lots of other things I want to do rather than sit behind a microphone every day. If you take on a project, you have to be totally committed to it. To have a podcast that works, you have to put a lot of time into it, and that’s not necessarily something I’m passionate about.

Stephen Curry isn’t necessarily keen on the media world, nor is he keen on sharing his word on social networks, so he’s not considering launching a podcast, even if the financial aspect is interesting. Between his brand at Under Armour, his family and his business, he has other things to manage. Fans totally understand and agree with him:

@CurryGotIt415 : He basically said Podcasting is for BUMS. Good own goat. Fried Mond and Lebron

@ltsMurda : we have too many podcast with people saying a whole lotta nothing anyway

@rhuanbrb : Conclusion: he not listening to Draymond’s podcast. Same as us.
