Injured at times this season and despite the support of his managers, Zion Williamson has had one problem after another. And in reality, a change of scenery isn’t totally impossible between now and the Pelicans’ return to action.

Despite his potential and obvious talent, Zion Williamson is still struggling to convince the Pelicans. This is due to regular injuries and disappointing results in Louisiana, still at the bottom of the Western Conference this season. So, inevitably, there are questions about Zion’s future with this organization.

This is all the more true given Zion’s string of behind-the-scenes controversies. We learned this weekend that he is being sued for sexual assault to the tune of $50 million, while his managers had decided to publicly support him regarding his future in New Orleans recently. He was even present at the lottery, as a symbol.

Could Zion Williamson be traded this summer?

So is he really untouchable? Well, not really, because no one really is at the Pelicans at the moment. The organization could well rebuild everything in the coming weeks, and if the right quid pro quo lands on the Pels’ doorstep for Zion, it’s unlikely the front office will decide to refuse.

Kevin O’Connor, in a recent broadcast, claims that the whole squad is available at the right price. Herb Jones, a highly respected defender, comes to mind, as does Williamson. Between the defeats, injuries and stories off the floor, this may be the best option in New Orleans to get back on track and move on.

@LegionHoops : “Report : According to Kevin O’Connor, there are no “untouchables” in New Orleans as the Pelicans gauge the market for everyone the roster.”

This means that the Pels are making enquiries about selling Williamson, who remains a disappointment after so many years without much spark. Yes, he’s talented, but he struggles to be consistent or avoid injury over the course of a season. This was to be expected at the outset, but the Pelicans wanted to give him a chance. Perhaps he’ll be back with a new jersey starting in September.
