Victor Wembanyama is already a legend in San Antonio, and this is just the beginning of his story with the city and the Spurs. It has to be said that he does everything to fit in as well as possible, including sharing special moments with the locals.

At just 21 years of age, Victor Wembanyama is already an NBA superstar. It has to be said that, in addition to a physique recognizable between 1,000, his game is unanimously acclaimed. It’s no coincidence that he was selected for the All-Star Game in only his second season, and that the greatest legends are interested in the idea of playing with him. The Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant rumors prove it.

Despite his success in the league and his celebrity status, the young Frenchman remains a simple boy. Last winter, for example, after a memorable game against the Knicks on Christmas Day, he took to the streets of New York to play chess with a few fans. He is also passionate about drawing and reading, activities that demonstrate his calmness and ability to concentrate.

Finally, nothing will ever dethrone the orange ball in Wemby’s heart, that’s for sure. Currently in San Antonio, where he’s no doubt getting back on track after his lengthy unavailability, the pivot realized the dream of a young fan who was playing in the street. He stopped and challenged him to a game of HORSE. The lucky man told KSAT News:

I was out on the pitch doing a few shots on my own. Victor Wembanyama came up to me and asked my first name. I tried to remain calm and normal. In the end, he asked me if I wanted to play a little game of HORSE with him. I think he just wanted to brighten up my day. He didn’t have a ball with him, so he wasn’t there to play basically. He was with his mother and another young lady, I think.

If I remember correctly, he started by taking a few easy mid-range shots. He was the winner. His last shot was a left-handed 3-pointer. He clearly could have won with a string of dunks, but I think he just wanted to have fun. He’s always humble. In the end, about fifteen people showed up and he decided to leave. We took a photo anyway.

Victor Wembanyama is a man of the people, a man who is aware of his importance to San Antonio. He wants to be a long-term fixture at the Fort Alamo, like Tim Duncan, winning titles and becoming a legend, and he won’t be able to do that without the support of the fans. To get them in his pocket, he doesn’t hesitate to get his jersey wet.
