The Lakers are looking for a variety of profiles to add to their roster this summer, and logically find themselves at the heart of many varied rumors. One insider, for example, has just listed five players who could be of interest to them… but who are not unanimous.

Will they contribute to the unrest that is likely to be seen on the bangs of the Draft? Given their needs, this should come as no surprise. After all, the Lakers are looking for a number of reinforcements this summer, as they aim to play a leading role in the title race again next year. They are likely to complete a number of trades, as well as recruiting free agents.

The divisive list of free agents suggested to the Lakers

In all likelihood, the Lakers will be looking first and foremost at free agents in the 5 position. In fact, this is where the main gaps in their roster lie. It’s hardly surprising, then, that they’re rumored to be interested in a pivot at the end of his contract. Bleacher Report’s Khobi Price took the liberty of suggesting five other soon-to-be-free players, reported by the LakersBetter X account:

Rumor: A list of potential under the radar targets on the free agent market for the Lakers includes Luke Kornet, Tre Jones, Dante Exum, Amir Coffey and Larry Nance Jr.

First of all, there’s only one name in this selection that would meet the Purple & Gold’s need for size in the racket, and that’s Luke Kornet.

All the other players mentioned by Price are no taller than 2.05m and therefore wouldn’t add much to L.A.’s interior sector. On the other hand, profiles such as Dante Exum, Amir Coffey and Larry Nance Jr. could prove beneficial in terms of 3-point address. As for Tre Jones, he’d be a great option as a bench player. Be that as it may, this casting hasn’t exactly thrilled some fans. Far from it:

@Lebronin1: Garbage

@KingSmoove009: We need size! Let’s stop with these little guards

@Bohanon1kk: Trash

@KBMV18: A whole bunch of WHO???

@KobronMuse: All these names would not allow the Lakers to assert themselves as real title contenders in the terrible Western Conference.

It’s worth noting, however, that other Internet users consider some of these leads to be interesting:

@jason23lake: I wouldn’t mind Larry Nance

@saucecoss: Kornet at low cost would be a great pickup for them. Same thing with Dante, who would bring a lot of energy off the bench. It all depends on the contracts they offer them.
