At just 21 years of age, Carla Leite has decided to try her luck in the WNBA, a league where French women are increasingly in demand. The cheerleader even said no to the French team to live her dream to the full, and for the moment, that decision seems to be the right one.
After the boys in the NBA, it’s now the turn of the French girls to take the WNBA by storm. While former players Gabby Williams and Marine Johannès are now regulars, this season several young players have made the trip across the Atlantic with them. The most talked-about is of course Dominique Malonga, selected second in the last draft.
But those who are showing the most on the pitch are Janelle Salaün and Carla Leite, the two players from the Golden State Valkyries. With the franchise surrounded by a veritable infatuation on the part of the fans, they are making a real name for themselves in this renowned league. In just a few weeks, Carla Leite has established herself as an important member of the Valkyries, the surprise team at the start of the WNBA season.
