Author of a great regular season, LeBron James was finally snubbed by the NBA at voting time. A disturbing absence, especially as the voters decided to award a place to Donovan Mitchell.

The NBA awards season isn’t over yet. We now know the name of the MVP, but this Friday night, we were treated to the composition of the three All-NBA teams, with the best players of the year. Stephen Curry finishes second after a fine year with the Warriors, as do Anthony Edwards and… LeBron James.

The first is made up of the following players: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell. The last two complete this major 5, since the first three were finalists for the MVP. Their presence is therefore not really questionable.

A major oversight for the NBA?

The problem is, a lot of fans are angry today. If Tatum’s presence doesn’t surprise anyone after a great season with the Celtics, Donovan Mitchell’s is a little more disturbing. So yes, Cleveland dominated the Eastern Conference in this campaign, but it was also a collective that made the big difference.

Spida finished with averages of 24 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5 assists. A fine and very effective season (despite the elimination), but one that some don’t understand. Edwards had better stats than him, with 27.6 points, while LeBron compiled 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists.

@MVPSGA : “HE IS IN YEAR 22 STOP HATING ON LEBRON HE DESERVES FIRST TEAM”

@4KTREYonSPIKE : “DONOVAN MITCHELL???????????????????????????”

@BronGotGame : “LeBron snubbed of first team wow, Mitchell over him LOL”

So did James deserve it? Probably yes, even if Curry’s fans feel the same way. It’s hard to please everyone, although Mitchell’s presence is helped by the Cavaliers’ fine season. Note, however, that the Rockets, second in the West this campaign, have no one on these teams. Alperen Sengun could have had something, but the voters decided otherwise.
