It was a bad night for Minnesota, who were soundly beaten by the Thunder to open the Western Conference Finals. Rudy Gobert was criticized for his performance, as was Anthony Edwards.
Dominant against the Warriors, the Timberwolves failed to put on a similar display against the Thunder on Tuesday evening. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s team-mates got the job done on both sides of the floor, winning Game 1 114-88. A perfect way to start the Western Conference Finals.
For the Wolves, however, it was a different story. Anthony Edwards hurt himself again, even though he was able to get back on the floor, but he was rather discreet at the end of the game. A real disappointment for the fans, who were no doubt expecting better from this Game 1. Even Rudy Gobert didn’t escape criticism, as usual.
Rudy Gobert criticized for his Game 1
Rudy Gobert criticized inIt has to be said that, despite 21 minutes of play, the Frenchman compiled just 2 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Very meagre statistics for the center, who is supposed to have a greater influence than that, especially if Minnesota wants to win the championship. One of Rudy’s actions is making the rounds on the web, and it’s not flattering for the shot.ur his Game 1

@BlvckJxsus : “Every time Rudy Gobert has the ball on offense, it seems like the first time he’s touched a ball.”
Yes, Game 1 was very difficult for Gobert, like his team in the end. We’ll now have to make some adjustments for the rest of the series, especially as Game 2, again in Oklahoma City, promises to be very complicated. Edwards will have to step up to the plate, especially as Julius Randle (28 points, 8 rebounds) must have felt quite alone in this game.
It’s worth noting that Gobert isn’t yet certain to get plenty of minutes in this series. We know that the Thunder can also adapt with their small ball.
